We use pure mountain water in Mexico, to gently remove the caffeine from our coffee beans. This process preserves the coffee's natural flavor and aroma, so you can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee without the jitters.
Our Mexican decaf coffee has hints of raisin and other dried fruits, with a smooth and enjoyable finish. It is perfect for any time of day, whether you're looking for a morning cup of coffee to help you start your day or to finish your day.
Recommendation: Good as Espresso, Good as Drip, Good as French Press. Good all the way around Decaf!
Process: Wash & Mountain Water Process (Our water-processed decafs are done in a facility in Mexico called Descamex. In order to remove the caffeine in this process, green coffee is soaked in a water, which removes both the caffeine as well as other solubles in the coffee (flavor compounds, for instance). The water is removed from the seeds and run through a special filter that captures caffeine molecules and allows them to be strained from the Water. The Water—now containing flavor compounds but no caffeine—is then reintroduced to the green coffee seeds, which reabsorb the soluble materials. The coffee is then dried once more, and prepared for reexport.) - NO CHEMICALS!
