Two Knuckleheads, One Mission.

It sounds like the setup to a joke: a pastor and a tile maker walk into a coffee shop to talk about... coffee.

That’s exactly how Spearfish Coffee Roasters was born. Tristan (the pastor who used to spend his free time obsessively experimenting with home roasting) and Armen (a master tile maker and the brains behind ARTO Tile) met up for a casual brew. By the end of it, they realized they shared two major things: a deep love for people, and a serious frustration with the current state of coffee.

The Wake-Up Call

We were tired. Tired of searching for coffee that was actually fresh, genuinely organic, and truly fair to the farmers who grew it. But mostly? We were tired of the 12-ounce bag scam. When did a "pound" of coffee turn into 12 ounces? We looked at those tiny, expensive bags and said, "Enough." Right then and there, over lukewarm cups, we made a pact to do things differently.

Our Ground Rules

We decided that Spearfish Coffee Roasters would be built on a few simple, non-negotiable promises:

• A Full Honest Pound: When you buy a bag of our coffee, you get 16 ounces. No corporate shrinkflation, no magic tricks. Just a full pound of goodness.

• Good to the Earth & Growers: We source organic, fair-trade beans because treating the planet and the hardworking farmers with respect isn't optional—it’s the whole point.

• Freshly Roasted: We don't let our beans sit on dusty shelves for months. We roast them fresh so you get maximum flavor in every single pour.
